Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue (HRHR) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation that
with our mission of "promotes responsible horse ownership through education, community
outreach and assistance."

Heart of the Redwoods has a human education component to the mission that focuses on horse/human
interactions and is currently reflected in HRHR's Community Education Series.  These educational
offerings focus on developing a relationship between humans and horses that comes from trust in each
other and confidence in themselves.


The series consist of:
Equine Experts

February -  this is a great opportunity to learn from local and national experts of horse care, nutrition,
training and veterinary care.  Speakers include Dr. Robert Branch, Jerry Tindell, Alan Bower, Thom
Mason, etc.

Horsemanship 1 Clinics  

2nd Saturday of May and August  -  these clinics offer training in groundwork with your horse or an
HRHR Therapeutic Horse.   The May clinic is a group format with Foundation of Groundwork in the
morning and Advanced in the afternoon.  The August session is an individual format with each
participant receiving one hour of instruction on a topic they choose.

Horsemanship 2 Clinic

2nd Saturday of November - this clinic offers instruction in riding with your horse or an HRHR
Therapeutic Horse on an individual basis with each participant receiving one hour of instruction on a
topic they choose.
