brought to Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue and eventually placed with a family in Hydesville
Sadly Betsy passed away December 30, 2006 and will be sadly missed...
BETSY'S STORY
Kei is a BLM Mustang that was abandoned at the age of one!  Her owner had left the state and left the poor
filly to fend for herself.  Kei had never been handled.  HRHR assisted the BLM rangers and eventually
placed her with a wonderful home.  Her new owners started her under saddle last summer.
KEI'S STORY
Willow
Willow and Ivy were brought to
HRHR after their owner was unable to
care for them.  Willow had been
"accidentally” bred at the tender age of
two!  Her foal was still at her side.
Willow is now living the life of
paradise with her owner on Humboldt
Hill!

WILLOW'S STORY
Peaches is an ancient Shetland Pony mare that was rescued in 2004!
Peaches was starving due to not having enough teeth to chew hay or
pasture grass.  After starting her on a diet of Equine Senior, Peaches
regained her health.  Since then, Peaches has served the community by
visiting local Elementary Schools, daycares, adult care homes and HRHR
events.  And, she had become a member of HRHR's family of volunteers.

Peaches has been adopted by a wonderful couple that needed a
companion for their horse that is on the same diet.  Peaches is now a
permanent member of their family!
