                           An evening with Equine Experts

On Wednesday, February 6th, five equine experts presented an educational
seminar at the Humboldt Area Foundation.  The seminar was sponsored by
Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue (HRHR), as the first part of their
Community Education Series.

Speakers included, Dr. Robert Branch, DVM; Jerry Tindell, clinician; Tim
Shreeve, The Farm Store; Eric Hought, Hought Fine Art and Leather; and Dr.
John Koopmans, Koopmans Chiropractic.  The evening was attended by a
packed crowd of equine enthusiast from all over Humboldt County.  “We
presented this seminar in keeping with our mission to promote responsible
horse ownership through community outreach, education and assistance”
stated HRHR’s host for the evening, Amy Abbott.  Ms Abbott is an HSU pre

horse health, equine dentistry, equine chiropractic, nutrition, proper saddle
fit and training techniques.

The second part of HRHR’s Community Education Series, Horsemanship 1, will
be April 12, 2008 at Redwood Acres Covered Arena in Eureka, California.  The
program consists of ground horse handling skills with horses and their
owners.

The cost for participants is $50 for non members and $25 for members.  The
cost to audit is $25 for non members and free for members.
